Prospective Respiratory Navigator Gated RF Excitation in Whole-heart Coronary MRA at 3T

چکیده
Figure 1. Illustration of profile filling order in k-space for whole-heart 3D coronary MRA. (a) For the concentric elliptical filling order, dark blue profiles in the center are acquired first during one heart-beat while dark red profiles are acquired at the end of the same heartbeat. An angular increment is performed for subsequent heartbeats. (b) Using the conventional profile filling order in k-space in conjunction with the prospective navigator gated RF excitation, high (white) and low (grey) signal intensity profiles are randomly distributed in k-space. With the proposed reordering method (c), profiles of high steadystate signal are grouped together to maximize SNR and minimize unwanted image artifacts.

3T Coronary MRA using 3D Multi-interleaved Multi-echo Acquisition and VARPRO Fat-water Separation
Introduction: Coronary MR Angiography is a valuable tool for non-invasive assessment of coronary arteries. Presently, contrastenhanced, fat-saturated, ECG-triggered and navigator-gated 3D spoiled gradient-echo sequence is employed for whole-heart Coronary MRA at 3T. However, large static field variations at 3T frequently result in non-uniform fat-suppression over the field-of-view (FOV), obscur...
متن کاملECG and navigator-free 4D whole-heart coronary MRA
Background Cardiac and respiratory motion artifacts are major challenges to whole-heart coronary MRA. The conventional motion suppression strategies often involve prospective gating based on motion surrogates, e.g. ECG and navigator, which complicates scan setup and prolongs scan time significantly. To address these limitations, an ECG and navigator-free 4D whole-heart coronary MRA technique wa...
متن کاملCoronary MRA on 3.0T
3.0T has been shown to be a promising platform for coronary MRA. The SNR gain from 1.5T to 3.0T can be traded for improved spatial resolution and/or reduced imaging time. Nevertheless, the SSFP imaging technique that has gained wide acceptance at 1.5T is prone to imaging artifacts at 3.0T because of the increased magnetic field inhomogeneities and RF distortions at higher field strengths. In ad...
متن کاملWhole heart coronary MRA at 3.0T: a comparison between multi and single- RF transmission
Introduction On high field MRI scanners uniform radio frequency (RF) excitation over the entire field-of-view is often challenging with single-channel RF transmit coils. This may cause a reduction of image quality (e.g. shadowing artifacts). This problem is most pronounced in sequences which heavily rely on a homogenous magnetic field, such as steady state free precession (SSFP) sequences, desp...
متن کاملDynamic self-navigated 3D whole-heart radial coronary MRA with retrospective acquisition window selection
Background Navigator gated coronary MRA is highly time inefficient as the data collection duty cycle (DC) is only 2% [1]. Here, we report a new, dynamic self-navigated coronary MRA technique with isotropic spatial resolution that a) further improves DC by continuously acquiring image data without ECG triggering and that b) enables retrospective, flexible, and individual selection of the acquisi...
